LL, LLC Autumn/Winter 2025

LL, LLC’s Autumn/Winter 2025 collection, titled “Ex-Wife,” continues with an exploration of New York’s Midtown spirit, this time with it’s muse as the well-worn arch nemesis: the ex-wife.

The ex-wife is a trope of a woman who is only in it for the money and status, who deceives their spouses through false signs of affection and love. LL, LLC’s collection embraces these stereotypes with an ironic and humorous view. Motifs such as “I LOVE YOU” in the Chase Manhattan Bank font, saccharine angels, gold ingots, hard-edged hearts, roam as charm necklaces and bracelets, earrings, and rings. Romance with hard edges.

As with the Spring/Summer 2025 collection, typically masculine accessories are broken down for parts: the striker of a vintage lighter becomes a hoop earring replete with their satisfying ridges, and tropes of boom-era 80’s corporate life— striated windowed skyscrapers and a call-back to Chase’s old logo— take the form of rings, necklaces, earrings, and a brooch. Watch chain clasps, which would normally link a pocket watch to a vest, become the decorative element for a necklace and brooch.

LL, LLC heralds the ex-wife— rather than a symbol of deception and greed— as a symbol of independence, sexual freedom, and challenging societal norms. What appears first as a watch is actually the recreation of the verso of a watch bezel, with the phrase “ACTE MISTERE,” translates from the original French to “mysterious acts.” We may not know what the true motivations of the ex-wife are, and nor is that our business. May she roam free from expectation; with joy, abundance, and irreverence.
