A--Company x LL, LLC, Collection 9 1/2

On November 1, LL, LLC presented a collaboration of jewelry with A--Company for Collection 9 1/2.

The collection of jewelry is a blend of A--Company and LL, LLC's mutual interest in research-based design, process, and perfected forms. Many of the pieces incorporate the sprues used in jewelry making into the final pieces, a way of bringing the memory of their process to the fore. There are also rings worn as earrings, bracelets as ear cuffs, and button molds as cufflinks. The collection turns around the idea of wearability with serious irreverence. And a special nod to this particular season are Antigone half-rendered signet rings and denim buttons, as if she is emerging from the metal. All pieces are made in sterling silver and gold vermeil, handcrafted in New York City’s historic Diamond District.

The presentation of this collection is shown in a restaging of Ann Carson’s ‘(Part of) Antigone’ by the director Daphne Dumons, with a cast of celebrated actors, artists, playwrights, and performers: Blake Abbie, Sophie Becker, Jeremy O’Harris, Sydney Lemmon, Rad Pereira, Bobbi Salvor Menuez, and Diamond Stingily. The presentation takes the form of a dress rehearsal of the famous play, with the director interrupting the actors with notes, and the actors discarding their script onto the stage as the play progresses.
